The correctional court of Béziers (Hérault) sentenced a forty-something to 3 years in prison, for having tried to introduce 305 g of cannabis resin and 0.18 g of cocaine into the prison center of the town, where he had worked for some time. weeks as a cook under a temporary employment contract.

The drugs had been discovered on him, during a control, carried out on March 30, at the entrance to the remand center, by the police.

At his home, they had found 5,100 euros and 370 euros in his vehicle.

Already condemned

The man explained, in police custody, that he had been approached by prisoners to bring narcotics into the prison, but that it was the first time that he had agreed to do so, for 300 euros, indicates the floor.

The sum discovered at his home came from savings, he said.

The man has already been convicted seven times between 1999 and 2011, including twice, in 2000 and 2005, for drug trafficking.

Due to the age of the facts, these convictions no longer appeared on bulletin no. 2 of his criminal record.

He was therefore able to be hired to work at the penitentiary centre.
