Power of the People Today (8th), 4th term lawmaker Kwon Seong-dong (62, Gangneung, Gangwon-do), who is the closest aide to President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol, was elected as the new floor leader.
Rep. Kwon, a key member of Yoon Seok-yeol's side, who has been called the so-called 'Yun Hak-kwan', was elected as the floor leader of the ruling party in the first year of the Yun Seok-yeol administration at a general assembly held at the National Assembly today by defeating third-term lawmaker Jo Hae-jin in Gyeongnam.
Rep. Kwon won 81 votes in the parliamentary primary, which was held with 102 out of 110 members in attendance, and was elected by a large margin over Rep. Cho, who received 21 votes.
