- It is an important step for us towards supporting the British Ministry of Defense with the expansion of remote-controlled air traffic control towers, and we are proud to have the only accredited solution that meets their requirements, says Per Ahl, CEO of Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions (SDATS) , in a press release.

The British Civil Aviation Authority approved Saab's technology in 2018.

In 2019, NATO bought the technology for a digital air traffic control tower for its air base in Geilenkirchen, Germany.

SDATS is a so-called joint venture between Saab and the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration and was formed in 2016.
