The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 51-year-old man in Barcelona for killing his mother in the house they shared.
Around three in the morning, the emergency telephone number received a call from 112 alerting to the death of an elderly woman in a home in the district of San Martí.
The call pointed to a death due to natural causes, but upon arrival the agents discovered that her body showed signs of criminality.
That is why they have arrested the son, who was present in the house, and have started the investigation as if it were an alleged homicide.
The Mossos Criminal Investigation Area took charge of the investigation.
The case is under secrecy of proceedings by court order
