A 103-year-old Iraqi man married a young bride - described as beautiful - in the Diwaniyah Governorate (southern of the country), for the third time in his life.

In a rare incident that sparked a wide interaction on the social media platforms.

The wedding ceremony of the groom, Mikhlif Al-Mansoori, was held in Sumer district, Diwaniyah governorate, in an atmosphere of joy, attended by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

According to Abd al-Salam al-Mansoori, son of the groom, this marriage is the third for his father, born in 1919;

He was associated with his first wife for 34 years, and she was 14 years younger than him, and he had 6 sons and 4 daughters, the oldest of whom was born in 1950 and the youngest was born in 1980.

Al-Mansouri added that his mother, the first wife of his father, died in 1999, and his father remarried after a 24-year-old wife, and had two sons and one daughter, the eldest of whom was born in 2002, noting that the reason for his father’s decision to marry at the end of 2021 was due to a dispute with his second wife and her going to Her family's home is in Dhi Qar Governorate (southern Iraq), and she stayed there for several months.

Al-Mansouri added that his father asked to find another wife for him, which is what happened, and indicated that "the choice fell on a beautiful young woman, born in 1985," meaning that she is only 37 years old.

The story of the marriage of Mikhlif Al-Mansoori - who exceeded the 100 club - provoked wide reactions on social media platforms in Iraq, and the reactions of Iraqis varied between those who wished the newlyweds happiness, and those who criticized the phenomenon of an elderly marriage to a young woman in her thirties, dozens of years older than her.
