Prosecutor Johan Eriksson believes that the bus driver was negligent when he turned the bus and did not check carefully enough that the six-year-old was nearby.
The bus driver is charged with causing another person's death, but he denies any wrongdoing.
The accident strongly affected the inhabitants of the small village and many turned to the church in connection with the incident and Christer Frostensson who is a minister in Glimåkra-Hjärsås pastorate said that many children came to honor the boy and leave stuffed animals:

It is Bergkvarabuss that runs the school buses in the area on behalf of Östra Göinge municipality.
The bus company has previously stated that they provided crisis support for the employees in connection with the accident.
