For the needs of epidemic prevention and control, online teaching has been launched in many places. How can students protect their eyesight during online learning at home?

In response to this problem, at a press conference held by the Shandong Provincial Government Information Office on the 6th, Chen Liangxia, director of the Health Management Institute of the Shandong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gave seven suggestions.

One is to scientifically select and place electronic products.

Choose electronic products with large-screen screens as much as possible, give priority to TVs or projectors, followed by computers and tablets, and use as little or no mobile phones as possible for online classes.

Choose electronic products with high-definition screens.

The second is to control the time of using electronic products.

In line with the principle of using as little as possible, the time for continuous use of electronic screens in class should be shortened as much as possible. After each continuous use of 30 to 40 minutes, there should be a 10-minute break.

At the same time, do eye exercises carefully every morning and afternoon.

The third is to maintain the correct learning posture.

The desk and chair at home should be adjusted to a suitable height. The standard is that when sitting on the chair, the feet can be placed flat on the ground, the thighs can be perpendicular to the calves, the back is straight and the upper arms are drooping, and the elbows are 3 cm to 4 cm below the table top.

The fourth is to ensure good lighting and lighting environment.

Do not study in places that are too dim or too bright, and natural light enters from the opposite side of the writing hand during the day.

When reading and studying at night, you should use the room ceiling lamp and table lamp at the same time, and the table lamp should be placed in front of the opposite side of the writing hand.

Avoid using electronics in dimly lit environments.

The fifth is to ensure sufficient outdoor light during the day.

Under the premise of the epidemic prevention and control situation and the premise of good personal protection, as much as possible to "eye" the sun in the open space outdoors, it is recommended not less than 2 hours a day.

In the case of not being able to go out, it is recommended to go to the balcony or window to receive sunlight.

Sixth is to ensure adequate sleep and reasonable nutrition.

Primary school students need 10 hours of sleep per day, junior high school students 9 hours, and high school students 8 hours.

Diet should be nutritionally balanced, not picky eaters, not partial eclipse, not overeating, eat less sweets, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

Seventh, if there is any discomfort in the eyes, take a rest or see a doctor in time.

During the online class, if symptoms such as dry eyes, foreign body sensation, burning sensation, photophobia, eye redness, and eye pain occur, you should stop using the electronic screen. If the symptoms cannot be relieved, you should seek medical attention in time.

If parents find that their children have symptoms such as tilting their heads when looking at objects, frequent squinting, and winking, they should take precautions and go to the hospital in time.
