Mr. Yuji Nishimura (67), a newcomer to the Communist Party and the general secretary of the party prefectural committee,

▽ Mr. Kenichiro Saito (41), a newcomer to the "Party that protects the people who do not pay the NHK reception fee" and a businessman secretary.

This by-election is due to the resignation of a LDP member to run for the prefectural governor's election last month.

The ruling party recommends Mr. Miyamoto of the Liberal Democratic Party, while the opposition party recommends Mr. Koyamada of the Constitutional Democratic Party, and the Communist Party supports Mr. Nishimura.
