It is between Thursday and Sunday this week that the Life Grenadier Group in the southern Military Region conducts an exercise together with the Home Guard Östergötland.

The exercise is located in both regular exercise and shooting ranges - but also in the urban areas of Linköping and Norrköping.

- There will be two hundred soldiers and officers practicing in the Linköping area and around Malmslätt, says Tomas Sevén who is the exercise leader and head of the Life Branch Group's training section to SVT Nyheter Öst.

May affect traffic

The exercise includes, among other things, that a Home Guard company will be moved from Norrköping to Linköping on Thursday morning, something that may have an impact on traffic.

- We may have to go out somewhere on the E4, but the aim is to go via the small roads to Linköping so you do not disturb the regular traffic, says Tomas Sevén.

What should you think about if you encounter military vehicles?

- We will drive at a fairly calm speed, so the important thing is that you do not push past, but that you take into account both your fellow road users and the military units.

The best thing is to take it easy and not stress about trying to drive again, says Tomas Sevén.

No pictures on social media

The military urges the public not to take pictures and upload on social media if you see troop movements or units.

- We have communicators who post the pictures that are suitable for posting.

If you take pictures of military units, you should not post it on social media.

We are grateful if you can avoid it, says Tomas Sevén.

According to the police, there will be shooting with loose ammunition during the period outside densely populated areas.
