launches 20 Mint, a free magazine to decipher the blockchain, NFTs and the metaverse.

We take this opportunity to introduce you to the key players in the sector

  • Do you remember Nintendogs?

Released in 2005 on DS, the game allowed you to adopt a virtual dog.

Dogami is much the same, with augmented reality and WEB 3.0 technologies including blockchain and NFT.

  • Because each Dogami is unique, as are the accessories it can be equipped with.

All purchases are made with DOGA, the game's cryptocurrency. The masters (or "Dogamers") are also rewarded in DOGA when their dog shines.

  • Still in full development, Dogami presents itself as a "petaverse", an immersive virtual world for pets, shared by all players, who will be able to navigate through their furry avatars.

A mainstream niche game.

We could present Dogami as the furry baby born from the cross between the technologies of the moment (blockchain, NFT, virtual reality) and a Tamagotchi, the virtual pet that cried in the pockets of schoolchildren at the very end of the years 1990.

For the moment, the offspring looks like a friendly ball of polygons with a look full of promise.

“The owners of a Dogami, apart from seeing it in augmented reality and reselling it on the secondary market, cannot do much at the moment,” admits Adrien Magdelaine, one of the four founders of Dogami.

Born less than a year ago, the company has the not always orthodox but ambitious approach of a young puppy pushed by the leaders of the genre (the publisher Ubisoft, which invested heavily in it at the end of 2021, not to mention it ).

A deployment in several stages

Every step taken brings the concept closer to reality.

A first litter (an “airdrop”) of 8,000 Dogami was offered for purchase, and sold with a yelp, on February 22nd.

Another milestone was reached on March 22 with the launch of its cryptocurrency, DOGA, on March 22.

The most important is yet to come, with the deployment of the mobile game on iOS and Android, in July: “We will access the

puppy phase

, in other words the dog's learning phase.

The “dogamer” will be able to view his dog in augmented reality as in Pokémon GO, and interact with him like a Tamagotchi.

Take care of him, feed him, groom him, teach him tricks…”, lists Adrien Magdelaine.

In short, play.

The more a master takes care of their crypto-pup, the more their stats and rarity will increase.

Because each Dogami is an NFT and therefore unique, with both physical and mental characteristics of its own.

Naughty shiba or stunted husky, the purchase is totally blind.

The owner only discovers the pedigree of his Dogami after he has somehow unpacked it (“minted”).

It is then up to him to bring it to adulthood and to the highest level.

“Once grown up, the dog will have access to different mini-games as well as tournaments.

A German shepherd will be able to pass the police dog competition, others participate in beauty contests, to raise their characteristics.

The game will integrate a table of the best masters, which will have an impact on the mating phase.

Because the Dogami can reproduce,

it is even one of the pillars of the game and its economy.

When two animals give birth to a new Dogami, one of the masters leaves with the puppy, the other with DOGA in his pocket.

Dogami is what is called a “play to earn” game.

“Quality training and commitment to the game will be rewarded with DOGA, our currency,” comments Kris Penseyres, co-founder and director of the brand.

Punctuated by tournaments, the game should give pride of place to competitors.

As well as dog sitters: an owner of virtual canines can offer them for rent against part of the winnings.

The currency collected can be exchanged for dollars or euros (after conversion into Tezos, the blockchain used by Dogami), or be used in game to buy food, register your champion for events or equip him with accessories, also unique.

If everything is still very secret, Dogami has already established several partnerships with brands that are not virtual.

To hold DOGA is finally to have power, and to weigh in the direction of the game, a great bet of WEB 3.0.

“Players will also be able to question the system of earnings, participate in any rebalancing or express themselves on the developments to be favoured, such as the activities and races to be created as a priority.

The promise of the “petaverse”

Another promise with which Dogami made his world salivate, the "petaverse" (the same as the metaverse but for

pets

, the domestic animals).

The immersive universe of Dogami will be shared by all its users who will be able to meet and interact there.

Better, the company plans to organize events on both sides of the screen to animate the community.

What makes doggo 3.0 man's best friend?

In fact, the second place suits him very well.

According to Kris Penseyres, “50% of Dogamers have a real dog”.

Moreover, adds Adrien Magdelaine, “we have many Internet users who ask if we can create a Dogami from an extinct animal.

We are working on it.

We really want players to create a strong bond with their Dogami.

Not as much as with their real pet, but that they see it as a companion always in their pocket.

Metaverse, augmented reality, NFT, blockchain… Beneath its airs of brave beast, Dogami piles up the trendiest technologies of the moment and could well be the best ambassador of Web 3.0 to the general public.

If he keeps all his promises and prices on a leash.

To get a Dogami, you have to either cross your fingers while waiting for the next airdrop, or turn to the resale market, where speculators are already at bay.

A diamond class shiba (the rarest), dogami #7384, traded for the equivalent of $38,000 on March 29.

Rest assured, there will be enough truffles for everyone: only 10 dog breeds have been unveiled out of the 300 that should house the world developed by the Parisian studio.

Every two to three months new puppies will be open for adoption.

For them,

the price remains high but much more reasonable: each Dogami is sold around €180 (the price can fluctuate because it is indexed to the price of Tezos, the game's blockchain, but Dogami's management has told us that it is committed to it remains accessible, just like that of the accessories).

Whatever the world, a pet is expensive.
