Create a "Xiongan Model" for Water Pollution Control
Baiyangdian Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the North China Plain and is known as the "Kidney of North China".
Before 2018, Baiyangdian was in a state of lower than V-V heavy pollution. After the establishment of Xiongan New Area, Baiyangdian ushered in the largest-scale systematic ecological management in history.
From 2018 to 2021, a total of 239 key projects of ecological environment governance and protection have been implemented in the Baiyangdian River Basin.
Xiongan New Area banned 13,700 "scattered polluting" enterprises, and more than 13,000 illegal sewage outlets were all banned and blocked.
All aquaculture and large-scale livestock and poultry farms in Xiong'an New Area have been withdrawn, and 576 rural domestic sewage treatment has been fully covered.
103 Dianzhong Village and Dianbian Village sewage and garbage toilets have been integrated and comprehensively treated to achieve full collection and full treatment.
According to data from China Environmental Monitoring Station, the overall water quality of Baiyangdiandian District will be Class III in 2021, and the three main indicators of chemical oxygen demand, permanganate index and total phosphorus will all drop by more than 16% year-on-year.
This is also the first time that Baiyangdian has achieved Class III water in the whole area since the restoration of water storage in 1988, and has entered the ranks of good lakes in the country.
According to the requirements of the "Implementation Opinions on the Zoning Management and Control of the Ecological Environment of the "Three Lines and One Single" in Xiongan New Area, by 2025, the comprehensive environmental management of Baiyangdian has made significant progress, and the function of the "Kidney of North China" has been initially restored.
The area of Dian District will reach about 360 square kilometers, and the annual amount of water entering Dian will be maintained at 300 million to 400 million cubic meters.
