After a record sunny March, we are in a period of more volatile weather.
Several low pressures have drawn in and passed over Sweden, and with the cold the snow falls in many parts of the country.
But snowfall in April is not unusual, says Deana Bajic, meteorologist at SVT.
- It is classic April weather, she says.
The cold weather has led to many roads being frozen during the night, especially in southern Sweden where the slippery road conditions have resulted in most traffic accidents.
In Kronoberg County, the rescue service issued a warning about lightning slips on Tuesday morning.
- It is important to be careful, especially late in the evening and early in the morning when the precipitation passes.
Keep the winter tires on and be careful when you go out into the traffic, says Deana Bajic.
The spring heat is delayed
During the evening, the snow will continue to fall around the country, especially northern Norrland.
But in the south the weather is stabilizing somewhat.
- But tomorrow a new precipitation area pulls in over the southern parts of the country, says SVT's meteorologist.
The weekend is also expected to be cold, and those who are thirsty for spring heat will have to wait until mid-April.
- Understand then the situation looks better.
Then it will be a little warmer and more spring feeling, says Deana Bajic.
