Left an "insulting mark" on their heads .. Russia releases Ukrainian prisoners

Russia conducted a prisoner exchange with Ukraine in the midst of the war raging since February 24, which included the release of female soldiers who said Russian soldiers had shaved their hair.

The English-language Ukrainian newspaper "Kyiv Independent" published a picture of shaved Ukrainian soldiers, with Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk in the middle, after the prisoner exchange was completed.

In the photo, 5 female soldiers whose hair has disappeared, while women in the Ukrainian army are not entitled to shave their hair.

Ukrainian sources say that Kyiv conducted a prisoner exchange with Moscow, which resulted in the extradition of 86 Ukrainian soldiers, including 15 women, on the first of April, and they were the ones who were subjected to this matter, which was met with severe criticism.

The head of the Human Rights Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Leoynets, stated that shaving the female soldiers' hair is a sign of "humiliation, arrogance and contempt."

Those sources did not indicate the number of Russian prisoners who were released in return, according to "Sky News Arabia".

For its part, Russia has not published any photos of its military prisoners who were freed in this exchange.

Reports stated that the reason for this may be due to the presence of the soldiers in a very poor condition;

Because they were tortured.

Moscow has repeatedly accused Kyiv of torturing the Russian soldiers it captured in the war, and has not yet commented on the incident of shaving the feelings of Ukrainian female soldiers.

The exchange process came as a result of the negotiations that started in the Turkish city of Istanbul a few days ago.
