This was in an interview with CNN, said Bob McNally, president of Rapidan Energy.

According to him, US President Joe Biden's decision to use strategic oil reserves will not help reduce gasoline prices.

As noted, in addition, certain problems may arise if Washington fails to replenish the wasted reserves.

McNally stressed that "as long as Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continues, fuel prices in the United States will rise."

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that the United States would release 1 million barrels of oil daily from strategic reserves amid disruptions in energy supplies.

The head of the National Economic Council of the White House, Brian Deese, said that the American side is persuading China and India to join the West in releasing oil from reserves.

On March 31, following the results of the OPEC+ meeting, it was decided to increase oil production in May to 432,000 barrels per day.
