The murder trial of a serious traffic accident in Frankfurt with two dead and one seriously injured began with a confession by the accused.
Before the district court, the 40-year-old German admitted on Tuesday that he had been traveling at significantly excessive speed on a thoroughfare in Frankfurt's Ostend in November 2020.
Because he lost control of the 625 hp vehicle, the car collided with a 27-year-old cyclist and a 61-year-old pedestrian.
While the two men suffered fatal injuries, the 61-year-old man's daughter survived with serious injuries.
"I know that I alone am responsible for the suffering of both families," said the accused.
The public prosecutor accuses him of double murder, dangerous bodily harm and a forbidden car race.
The indictment is based on the murder characteristic of public danger.
