The snowy plateau in spring is as sharp as a knife.
A pull-point combat drill under extreme weather started, and a brigade of the 76th Army, which was tasked with the assault mission, was blocked from attacking, and the situation was very urgent.
"Party member commando, follow me!" At the critical moment, Han Baolei, the political instructor of the company, decisively selected a capable force, and took advantage of the dark conditions to take the lead in launching a raid to break through the defense line.
Because of his outstanding performance in the drill, Han Baolei was commended by his superiors as an "advanced individual for training and preparing for war" and won the award once.
He immediately called his father Han Cuncai and shared the good news with his family.
"If you can't make a little progress, you will be proud. You must continue to work hard for greater achievements!" On the other end of the phone, Han Cun didn't forget to encourage him while he was happy.

One day is a soldier, life is a soldier
Han Baolei's grandfather, Fan Fuxi, was an old fighter to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea.
From childhood to adulthood, Han Baolei always liked to pester his grandfather about his fighting experience.
Under the influence of his grandfather, the dream of serving the country from the army gradually took root in Han Baolei's heart.
In 1953, Fan Fuxi, who was only 18 years old, joined the Chinese People's Volunteers and became a glorious volunteer soldier.
During the war into the DPRK, Fan Fuxi became a member of the Communist Party because of his outstanding performance and bravery in battle.
Han Baolei once asked his grandfather: "Aren't you afraid?" Fan Fuxi said to him: "Everyone will be afraid of the artillery fire. But behind me is the motherland and my family, and I must choose to charge."
Han Baolei's father, Han Cuncai, joined the army in 1985 and served in the sixth detachment of the former Beijing Armed Police Corps. Because of his outstanding performance, he joined the party in his first year of enlistment and was rated as an outstanding soldier.
One day in 1986, when Han Cuncai was on a mission, a criminal took out a weapon and chopped him off on the head.
Han Cuncai quickly backed up and raised his arm to resist, and the blood flowed like a stream.
Han Cun didn't care about the pain, he held down the gangster and tried his best to subdue him.
In Han Baolei's memory, both father and grandfather have scars from their military careers.
Whenever he asked whether it hurt or not, his father always said, "This is a soldier's medal." The experiences of his grandfather and his father made Han Baolei become more and more interested in the military camp.
In 2009, Han Baolei, who had just finished his college entrance examination, was at a crossroads in his life.
"My grandfather and my father were both soldiers. It would be a pity not to join the army." With a passion, he applied for the National Defense Student of China University of Petroleum.

In the midsummer of 2014, Han Baolei came to the northwest with his luggage and became a grass-roots platoon leader.
"I thought I was a descendant of the military, and I spent my college career in semi-military management. I would be handy in military camp life, but the reality poured cold water on me." Looking back on the original experience, Han Baolei was deeply touched.
During a call, Han Cun heard that his son wanted to retreat, and taught his son the experience of "coming over": "Son, how much hardship you can endure, how far you can go in the future, thinking about the sacrifices and dedication of the grandfather's generation, there is no such thing as Unfinished mission."
His father's teachings accompanied Han Baolei, who had just entered the military camp, through the sleepless nights.
In 2019, the equipment of Han Baolei's company was updated and upgraded, which put forward higher requirements and tests for operation and use.
As the college student platoon leader of the company, the backbones of the company have great expectations for Han Baolei.
For a while, he was often seen circling the gun wagon at the training ground, but his progress was not satisfactory.
When nothing could be done, Han Baolei's mind came to his grandfather's words when he was alive: "When you are a soldier in the army, you must love to study and dare to be true. When you encounter problems, you will pay the price of blood in war." I clearly remember that he solemnly saluted his grandfather at that time, which was both a response and a promise.
Han Baolei plunged into the technical parameters and teaching materials, studied hard, asked for advice everywhere, and finally gnawed the "hard bones" and came out on top in the new equipment competition organized by the brigade.

After the old man Fan Fuxi retired, he still did not give up his military relationship. During his work in the local armed forces department, he tried his best to send more excellent soldiers to the people's army.
In 1990, Han Cun took off his beloved military uniform and faced a life choice.
After Fan Fuxi learned of the situation, he wrote to his son-in-law to encourage him: "You are a party member, wherever you need to go, no matter what you do, you must be down-to-earth." He taught Han Cuncai a lifetime of wealth.
After Han Cuncai retired, he chose to return to his hometown.
During his tenure as secretary of the Youth League branch in the township, in order to help the villagers increase their income and become rich, he led hundreds of young and middle-aged people to reclaim barren hills and wasteland and planted hundreds of acres of pear and apple trees.
To this day, the orchard is still thriving.
Later, Han Cuncai passed on his father-in-law's words to his son as a family motto.
Han Baolei kept in mind the instructions of his grandparents and was diligent and practical.
In 2019, after becoming a company instructor, he took the initiative to solve problems for the soldiers.
At the end of 2021, the company will receive more than 20 soldiers of different levels who have been adjusted and replenished by a regiment.
Sergeant Xiao Mu was one of the recruits, and was a well-known sniper in the original unit.
Unexpectedly, after coming to the new company, he served as the aimer, and it was difficult to adapt for a while.
In order to help Xiao Mu out of the predicament, Han Baolei mobilized all the comrades in the platoon, and each wrote a word of encouragement to Xiao Mu.
Seeing the sincere words of encouragement on the note, and feeling the sincere concern from his comrades in arms, Xiao Mu's depression was swept away.
Learning to calculate the ruler and measure the target distance... Han Baolei recruited the backbone of the business to form a technical mutual aid pair with Xiao Mu, and worked with the backbone of the training to formulate a growth plan for him.
More than two months later, the higher-level organization simulated live ammunition shooting, and Xiao Mu, as the aiming hand, helped the artillery squad to score 3 out of 3 rounds.
On the head of Han Baolei's bed is a "Book of Knowing Soldiers", which records in detail the birthdays, specialties, hobbies and family situations of the officers and soldiers of the company.
On this basis, Han Baolei identified the root cause of the problem and solved the actual problem.
Now the entire company is thinking in one place, working hard in one place, and has a positive and strong entrepreneurial atmosphere.
