At half past one on Monday, the container ship was piloted into the port of Helsingborg.

It is flagged in the Bahamas, the bananas are from Ecuador and the ship will then sail on to St. Petersburg in Russia.

- You have to think about the whole.

There can be no discussion between different ports, and the ports are waiting for the government, which in turn is waiting for the EU.

Then it will be a little longer than the unions think, says Fredrik Dersell (S), vice chairman of Helsingborgs Hamn AB.

"Too bad about the company"

Last week, the Port Workers 'Union introduced a blockade against ships with Russian couplings and the Transport Workers' Union will do the same from the first of May.

This meant that the ship Baltic Performer could not be unloaded this weekend.

- It's a shame about the company that sells the bananas, because they end up in a pinch.

But considering the war, I can understand that the union makes the decision, says Fredrik Dersell (S) vice chairman of Helsingborgs Hamn AB.

Different buds

On weekends, there is voluntary work in the port of Helsingborg.

This means that the dock workers themselves can sign up for a list to take an extra shift.

And there were written names, according to information to SVT Nyheter Helsingborg.

But then there were several trips.

First came the news that the cargo would be unloaded on Saturday by volunteers from the Transport Workers' Union, but then several withdrew their application.

- No one from the Transport Workers 'Union will work on Saturday or Sunday, said the Transport Workers' Union's press spokesperson Sirin Celik.

Normal work week again

Since the weekend is over, there is now a normal working week in the port.

Until the Transport Workers' Union's blockade takes effect in a month, the dock workers will unload.

- If someone does not want to work with this particular ship, it is up to the port company to take it and you have to solve it on the spot, says Sirin Celik, the Transport Workers' Union's spokesperson.

The Port Workers' Union chose to block the ship Baltic Performer - this is what chairman Rolf Lycktoft and the port's CEO said on Friday:
