In Senegal, artisanal fishing weakened by foreign trawlers

With more than 700 kilometers of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, Senegal is West Africa's second largest fish producer.

But in recent years, industrial overfishing by foreign vessels has destabilized the sector.

They are depleting fish stocks and ruining local fishermen.

An African work of art soon... in space!

Art from the continent will go into space next December.

A work created by three contemporary artists, Jean David Nkot, Géraldine Tobé and Michel Ekeba, will be sent into orbit aboard Ariane 5, from Kourou in Guyana.

The European launcher will also carry a crucial meteorological observation satellite for the continent.
