Two deaths and two hit-and-runs.

It was around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday when firefighters intervened for a traffic accident involving two cars, near Caudry, in the North, we learned from the Departmental Rescue and Fire Service (Sdis ).

When help arrived, three people were incarcerated in their vehicle, on the roof, on the edge of the D115, in the town of Montigny-en-Cambrésis.

Two of the three victims succumbed to the violence of the shock.

They are two women, the mother and her daughter, aged 86 and 60.

The third victim, a 63-year-old man, had to be transported in serious condition to the Cambrai hospital center.

Damage to the rescue ambulance

In the second damaged car, the firefighters, accompanied by the gendarmes, had to take care of an injured 39-year-old man.

During his transfer to Cambrai hospital, "the individual kicked the firefighters' emergency ambulance, causing material damage", according to Sdis.

The other two occupants of the vehicle had previously fled.

"The canine team and the drone of Sdis 59 were mobilized to find these two individuals but the search proved fruitless", admit the firefighters.

An investigation is carried out to find them.
