Leaders of the ruling and opposition parties will meet on the topic of revision of the Public Official Election Act to introduce a major constituency system for basic members from the June 1 local election.

Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party, and Kim Ki-hyun, floor leader of the People's Power, are arguing over issues such as the introduction of a major constituency system for basic lawmakers at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 3rd.

Ahead of the plenary meeting of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee scheduled for tomorrow and the plenary session the day after tomorrow (the 5th), the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties are trying to reach an agreement.

The Democratic Party is insisting on introducing a major constituency system in which the number of basic members is three or more starting from the June 1 local election, but the people's power is fighting by only adjusting the number of members of the metropolitan area and defining constituencies.

Bae Jin-kyo, floor leader of the Justice Party, is planning to picket up the 'local election political reform bill' in front of the National Assembly meeting room where the meeting takes place.

However, the opposition and opposition parties were unable to narrow their differences not only in the National Assembly Special Committee on Political Reform, which had previously discussed the issue, but also in discussions with the chief of the floor.

Therefore, there is also a forecast that it will be difficult to reach a dramatic agreement at today's meeting between floor leaders.
