Ethiopian Deso Gelmisa won the 45th edition of the Paris marathon on Sunday.

Kenya's Judith Jeptum dominated the women's event by beating the previous record.

Deso Gelmisa won during the Paris marathon which took place this Sunday.

The Ethiopian won the race with a time of 2h 05min 07sec, ahead of his compatriot Seifu Tura and Frenchman Morhad Amdouni.

I am very happy 

,” reacted Gelmisa soberly.

On the women's side, the Kenyan Judith Jeptum won the event.

With a time of 2h 19min 48sec, she

broke the record set in 2017 by the Kenyan Purity Rionoripo

(2h 20min 55sec).

French record broken

Morhad Amdouni, for his part , beat the French record

set by Benoît Zwierzchiewski during the 2003 edition (2h 6min 36sec)

by more than a minute .

, "said the 33-year-old Corsican with relief, smiling at the lips and medal around the neck.

In the disabled category, Frenchman Julien Casoli won in 1 hour 38 minutes and 36 seconds.

This is the 5th victory in the Parisian event for the 39-year-old athlete, double Paralympic medalist.
