A pizzeria owner and his father risked their lives to subdue the robbers when they witnessed a Korean woman being stabbed in the United States.

Despite the pain of being stabbed several times, they did not lose sight of the criminals until the end.

According to foreign media such as the New York Post on the 30th local time, a Korean woman in her 60s was stabbed with a knife by a trio of robbers in front of a pizza shop in Queens, New York around 9 pm on the 26th.

The pizzeria owner Louis Suljovic, 38, and his father, Kajim, 68, who witnessed the situation, immediately ran into the robbers and caught the robbers despite being stabbed several times.

"My father at the counter first noticed the woman who was attacked and fell to the floor," said Louis, a pizza shop owner and son. "The woman who was stabbed was bleeding profusely." "My father called me and chased after the robbers. As soon as I heard the name, I also ran to them,” he said at the time.

During a grueling hand-to-hand battle with a gang of robbers, Louie was stabbed once in the back and his father Kajim was stabbed nine times.

Despite their injuries, the rich man did not miss two of the three robbers and crushed them with their whole body until the police arrived at the scene.

The rich man, who handed the criminals over to the police, then walked to a nearby hospital, and as a result of diagnosis, it was reported that both of them suffered serious lung injuries.

"I'm having a hard time breathing (because of a pneumothorax)," said Louie, a former military veteran. "We're not going to let them attack an Asian woman. If the same thing happens, we'll do the same."

She said, "There is a growing number of violent crimes against Asian Americans in New York. If we don't take care of our community ourselves, we will lose our city."

New York Police Department praised "Louis and his father Kajim are one of the best New Yorkers ever."

In response to this rich man's great sacrifice, the citizens launched a fundraising campaign to help the pizza shop, and in just two days, $188,000 (about 230 million won) was gathered, and passionate support for them poured out.

It is said that the rich have donated pizzas to nearby medical staff during the corona pandemic.

Meanwhile, a Korean woman victim explained that at the time of the incident, "I was suddenly pushed from behind and stabbed with a knife. The robbers took my bag."
