Tesla is currently experiencing significant shortages of its Solar Roof.
The American company is unable to meet certain orders, so that some customers find themselves homeless.
Given the tense situation, Tesla has practically suspended solar rooftop installations, according to information from
Electrek
relayed by
Numerama
on Thursday.
Concrete case: a customer from Los Angeles who had chosen the Solar Roof asked Tesla to start installing his roof in January.
But currently, for lack of solar tiles, it is only left with plywood sheets and a waterproofing layer.

Tesla had indicated to this customer that the tiles would be delivered within the next eight weeks and that the sealing system put in place under the future tiles could be kept for six months.
But when contacting the company's salesman, the client learned that the delivery of tiles might not be made until… the end of December.
If this is the case, the period keeping its roof tight will therefore have passed.
The case of this American is not isolated.
Other customers are complaining that their solar tile installations are being pushed back without Tesla really communicating on a reliable timeline.
The tiles are produced in the Gigafactory in New York.
Elon Musk's company had planned to produce 1,000 roofs per week, but the global shortage of solar cells has considerably reduced this objective.
Result: Tesla no longer receives orders from Solar Roof, concentrates its forces on orders in progress and prioritizes renovations of damaged roofs.
