President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol announces the appointment of a new prime minister at 3:30 pm today (3rd).



The Office of the Elected Spokesperson announced that President-elect Yoon will announce the appointment of the new Prime Minister today at the press conference at the Office of the Transition Committee in Tongui-dong, Seoul.



President-elect Yoon will nominate former Prime Minister Han Deok-soo as the new government's first prime minister candidate.



It is reported that former Prime Minister Han will also attend the meeting.



A former prime minister from Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in economics and passed the administrative exam to become an orthodox bureaucrat.



During the Kim Dae-jung administration, he served as the head of trade negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and as the president's chief economic officer.



He served as ambassador to the US during the Lee Myung-bak administration.



It is reported that Yoon-elect selected a former prime minister in consideration of factors such as national unity and economy, as well as that former Prime Minister Han is an expert on the economy and the United States.
