Jarmorska and his colleagues are recruiting people who want to travel to Warsaw, about 400 kilometers away, by putting posters on their private cars that say "safe free transportation by women" at evacuation centers near the border.



The 15-year-old boy who got in Mr. Jarmorska's car showed a reassuring expression and said, "It's cool."



"It's scary to get in a man's car that you don't know. I'll keep holding the steering wheel to make you feel safer," said Jarmorska.
