  • Politics Feijóo works in tandem with Juanma Moreno and will give "even more weight" to Andalusia in the PP

Alberto Núñez Feijóo is already president of the PP, with

98.35% of the vote of the party's delegates and with all the

popular

territorial forces

unanimously on his side.

On day 1 d.

C. (after Casado), the new popular

leader

has taken advantage of his proclamation speech to break down his political program and to underline his pactist profile and mark distances with Vox.

While

Julio Cuesta

delivered the proclamation for

Holy Week in Seville at the

Teatro de la Maestranza

, Feijóo has articulated his own for the new stage of the PP, with a markedly institutional tone and without sparing in solemnities: "Spain is waiting for us. It is always waiting for us in difficult times. Spain deserves more".

For Feijóo, he represents "adult" politics compared to the rest of the leaders, whom he considers to be amateur tweeters without as much management experience as he does.

"That is why we are here, to guarantee people that we are never going to play with general interests. To offer Spaniards reliability, maturity, a sense of state and a direction," the PP leader detailed.

"And that is my commitment", he underlined, because, in his opinion, "governing is moderating political life, serenely making the necessary reforms, and building bridges with those who do not think like us", especially with the PSOE, to which it has proposed a series of agreements on fiscal matters, territorial integrity, to support the proper functioning of public services and on employment.

Feijóo has marked his own profile not only with respect to Casado's PP and with respect to Pedro Sánchez, but to clearly differentiate himself from Vox.

In one of his harshest criticisms of Santiago Abascal's party -without citing him-, he has proclaimed: "Save the rhetoric and let's start working as adults in Spanish politics once and for all. Let's stop handing out cards and being more Spanish than no one, more patriotic than anyone, more common than anyone".

"Here we all fit!" Feijóo has harangued point-blank.

The auditorium of the Palacio de Congresos de Sevilla has stood up at that time.

"We are the party that defends the Spain of autonomies, the Spain of unity in diversity," Feijóo countered Vox.

At that time, he has continued to underline the differences: "The PP is not a confederal party, it is a national party, a single party. We are not anti-European, we are the party that fights for the EU. We are the party of the Spaniards who want to advance in equality. We are neither an urban nor a rural party, what an effort to qualify".

"I respect all families, I am not the one to judge anyone," he added later, abounding in his argument.

"Cheer up, go ahead, get to work!"

For Feijóo, the PP should not aspire to "lead a block", but to gather "a majority of Spaniards".

"Let no one count on me to participate more in this children's entertainment in which Spanish politics has degenerated," he stressed.

"I am not leaving

Galicia

to present myself at a game: I have come to make a serious policy."

"We are going to make a difference with all the government and opposition parties and we will do it by proposing, because what distinguishes us is that we know how to govern," he has loaded the inks, in another mention that appeals directly to Vox.

"Yes, there is an alternative to the government," he harangued.

"And we are going to demonstrate it calmly. It is not simply about waiting for the government's turn to come. We are going out to win, not to wait for the government parties to lose," she asserted.

After placing Aznar and Rajoy as his "references" and his "essential aid", Feijóo has warned that his institutional discourse is not a sign of weakness or passivity.

"Do not be mistaken or try to mislead the Spaniards: moderation is not lukewarmness, dialogue is not submission."

Feijóo, who at the end of his speech had forgotten to close the

XX Congress

of the PP, has done so at the suggestion of the veteran leader

Juan Carlos Vera

.

And he has said goodbye with a war cry: "Courage, go ahead, get to work!".
