- We have a lot of people who are not from the county, says Anette Timmer, group manager for the reception staff at the police in Värnamo.

To reduce the long queues, the police in Jönköping County are now open for the next two months.

They have also extended the opening hours by a couple of hours both before and after regular opening hours.

Several months of waiting

In Värnamo, the first free time is only in August and in Jönköping and Eksjö, applicants have to wait until September, says Anette Timmer and notes that it is a frustrating situation that the police have received a lot of criticism for.

- I understand that.

We are also frustrated but we do what we can to make it work out.

The staff is struggling, she states.

She advises being active on the police website to find a free time and for people who are not digital, there is always help available on 114 14.
