Streetsport Nordanstig was founded in 2020 and in 2021 they received a grant to be able to rent a temporary outdoor park in Gnarp.
But when autumn and winter came, the association began to think about how the business could continue during the winter.
- Then someone on the board came up with the proposal that we could use his premises that he had taken over and it was this chapel, says Andreas Fahlcrantz, chairman of Streetsport Nordanstig.
"Fits all"
After the idea, it was quick to get started with the project.
The association came in contact with the local skateboard entrepreneur Conny Björklund, who was commissioned to draw and build the ramp part of the chapel.
- It is generally a ramp that suits everyone, regardless of level, says Conny Björklund.
Contribution
The project has been financed through, among other things, grants from Gnarp's youth fund, the Swedish Sports Confederation and Nordanstig municipality.
The hall will be inaugurated in early May, but it is expected to open for skiing before then.
