There are many Piteå residents who show up and donate clothes and money to needy Ukrainians.

Every day there is a lot to take care of and about 30 volunteers at the Red Cross work diligently to sort everything that flows in.

- You feel that you are doing something useful and that you represent an organization that is local, national and international.

We have donated SEK 125,000 to Ukraine already now and there will be more, says Gunilla Nilsson, store manager at the Red Cross.

Has been involved for 70 years

One of the volunteers is Aina Dahlbäck, 92, who has been involved in the Red Cross for almost 70 years.

- My father worked for the Red Cross and he made sure that all of us in the home signed up and paid the fees.

Since then, it has hung with my whole life, she says.

Works when she can

Since Aina retired, it has become more that she helps in the second-hand shop.

She decides for herself which days and times she can work.

- When health wants, I keep up and every morning I say "well, today I also step up".

We are very happy that money is coming in from the sale and even more is needed, says Aina emphatically.

Colleague: "A fantastic lady"

Colleague Gunilla Nilsson spreads praise over Aina's efforts.

- She's an amazing lady!

Spiritual, happy and has a genuine heart for the Red Cross, she says.
