The governor of the Russian Belgorod Province announced, on Friday morning, that a fuel storage facility in Belgorod was attacked by Ukrainian military helicopters, in an attack that is the first of its kind for Kyiv government forces inside Russian territory.

And a circulating video showed the bombing of an oil depot in the Russian city of Belgorod near the Ukrainian border by Ukrainian military helicopters.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced that Russian forces had killed 148 children during their bombing and air raids on Ukrainian cities, fired 1,370 missiles and destroyed 15 Ukrainian airports since the invasion began on February 24, adding in a statement that more than 10 million Ukrainians have fled their homes.

On Thursday, a senior Pentagon official warned that focusing Russian war efforts on Donbass in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces will face experienced Ukrainian units, portends a "protracted" conflict.

According to "Sky News Arabia," the official, who asked not to be identified, added: "The Russian forces began withdrawing from Chernobyl (north), and abandoned the Gostomel military airport northwest of Kyiv, but we still believe that what is happening is a repositioning."

He continued, "We have absolutely no indication that these soldiers will return to their homes, or that they will be permanently removed from the fighting," according to Agence France-Presse.
