- Of course you are a bit tense and nervous as you are always like this in the beginning, but above all it should be very fun, says Kim Hellberg, coach of IFK Värnamo.

After last season's head coach Robin Asterhed chose to leave the club for the coming season, Kim Hellberg was recruited as the new coach of IFK Värnamo.

He most recently came from IFK Norrköping, where he was assistant coach in the 20/21 season.

The club that has climbed two divisions

The team went to last season up to the Superettan and was responsible for a well-executed season, to say the least, when they secured promotion up to the Allsvenskan.

The match on Sunday is now the first match for the club ever in Swedish football's fine room.

- Several of the players in this year's squad have been with previous seasons in Värnamo and climbed two series upwards in about 1.5 years.

So it's clear that this is a big challenge.

But it is also a great experience and something to enjoy, says Kim Hellberg.

IFK Värnamo's first match will be played away in Gothenburg at Gamla Ullevi against IFK Gothenburg at 15.00.
