With the “Union Bracelet”, Dr. Maryam Kittet and jewelry designer Fatima Al Khoury attended Expo 2020 Dubai, which reached its last stop yesterday, as the two Emirati innovators presented a valuable piece of art for the first time exclusively in the global event.
The "Union Bracelet" was an Emirati gift to the First Lady of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dr. Elisabetta Georgievska, who is known for her support of women and for her inspiring experiences in supporting them in facing various challenges, and enhancing the utilization of their capabilities in order to empower them in society.
Maryam Kittet said: "The experience of (Union Bracelet) is in line with her personal experience in the field of medicine and integrated treatments with breathing, yoga and positive thought, and it simulates an old idea that she has always had in mind, which is the embodiment of synonyms of places and the different energy that emanate from them."
After a trip between the seven emirates, Dr. Maryam, with her friend Fatima Al-Khoury, was able to crystallize the idea of the maps of the seven emirates with precious stones, in harmony with the energy of each emirate, and embodied it in the "bracelet", in the center of which is the map of the Emirates, to be the icon of the "Union" and the symbol of integration, belonging and cooperation , which includes everyone under one umbrella that simulates the experience of this largest global event, "Expo 2020,", according to Dr. Maryam.
On the idea of creating the “Union Bracelet”, Emirati jewelry designer, Fatima Al-Khoury, said: “The experiment started after long consultations between me and Dr. Maryam about the step of designing a limited-edition bracelet that combines the Emirates of the country in interconnected maps and mixes between precious metals, such as gold and a number of stones. The gem that reflects the (spirit) and (energy) of each emirate separately, while each map of the seven emirates of the country included in the bracelet is made of stones (crystal, malachite, onyx, amethyst, aquamarine and citrine).
She described the experience of designing this piece and its stages, difficult and sometimes arduous, explaining: “It was not easy to manufacture the piece, nor to assemble and cut all these stones, to suit the shapes of each map, given the sensitivity of some stones and sometimes pointed and sharp-edged map shapes, which led to their breaking and required time. doubled to complete its design.
She expressed her happiness with the unique work that brought together the seven Emirates, and presented it to the world at the "Expo Dubai".

About dedicating the "Union Bracelet" to the First Lady of North Macedonia, Dr. Maryam Kteit said: "We wanted to celebrate her presence in the international exhibition, and to honor her for her great societal and humanitarian achievements, for the women we care about empowering and upgrading their presence and active mark in society."
She added: "It is no coincidence that the launch of the bracelet coincides with the unveiling of the Guitara project at (Expo 2020) the women's gathering, which represents the (union of a constellation of women's projects) pioneering, under the banner of empowering women and helping them to highlight their creativity and enter the labor market, through The digital transformation step by which (Kitara) helps wide categories of female entrepreneurs around the world, to break into the digital space and establish successful commercial platforms for their projects that guarantee their success, spread by default, and better market their projects.
