Russia's President Vladimir Putin, who continues his military invasion of Ukraine, has surpassed 80% for the first time in about four years, an independent polling agency has announced.

A face-to-face survey of 1632 people over the age of 18 in Russia from March 24th to 30th by the private polling agency Levada Center found that 83 responded that they "supported Putin's activities." It went up to%, which was significantly higher than the 15% who answered "I do not support".

The approval rating, which had dropped to 63% as of November last year, has gradually increased since Russia began to deploy military troops around the Ukraine border, and Russia will invade Ukraine in February. In the last survey, it was 71%.

In the following month, the approval rating increased by 12 points, exceeding 80% for the first time in about four years since April 2018.

In addition, in a survey asking about "pros and cons of military action against Ukraine", 81% of the respondents answered "clearly agree" and "somewhat agree", and "clearly disagree" and "rather disagree". Was 14% in total.

In particular, 89% of the respondents who answered that they support the president answered that they agree.

On the other hand, by age group, 64% of those aged 55 and over answered "clearly agree", while only 29% of the younger generation up to the age of 24 answered "clearly agree".

Regarding these results, the "Levada Center" shows that "many people believe in propaganda by the government. Local people and the elderly are sourced from state television that conveys propaganda, and young people in urban areas are SNS etc. It's completely different from the situation where you get the truth from. "

In 2016, the Levada Center was designated by the Putin administration as a "foreign agent," meaning so-called "foreign spy," and continues its own polling activities and analysis under pressure.
