The healthcare express was claimed to be an intelligent computer system that would revolutionize the work at the health centers.

The regions in Skåne and Västra Götaland purchased the system in 2019.

The agreements were valued at almost SEK 1 billion.

But SVT revealed that there were suspected irregularities in the deal.

After SVT's revelation, Region Skåne then ordered an external investigation and then reported the incidents to the police.

A new verdict will be announced

Two former regional officials were charged with aggravated bribery and gross infidelity against the principal and Vårdinnovations' former CEO Damon Tojjar was charged with aggravated bribery and incitement or aiding and abetting gross infidelity against the principal.

In the spring of 2021, the CEO was sentenced to 3 years in prison and the two salaried employees to 2 and 2 years and 3 months in prison, respectively.

Together, they would also share in damages to the regions of almost SEK 30 million.

But the verdict was appealed and later that summer, the Court of Appeal considered that one of the judges was unfair.

The verdict was remanded and last winter the trial was resumed.

The new verdict in the case will be announced on Friday.
