  • PP Ayuso asks to close a crisis that "never should have existed" and conspires with the rest of the barons to "win the elections for Sánchez"

"I am a predictable politician."

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has turned his speech as a candidate for the presidency of the PP into a self-presentation interview with his own.

The imminent popular

leader

has asked himself and answered four big questions: "Who am I? Why am I here? In exchange for what? And why have I come?"

The last question gave rise to the most relevant answer: "I have come here to win and to govern; we are going to try to the last breath and we will be able to do it if we commit to doing it, and my commitment has no date of expiration".

"That's what I came for!", She has harangued her people between shouts of "president, president!".

"I claim the great PP, of the forceful majorities. That of the majorities of Rajoy and Aznar. That is our commitment, and I will give everything of myself so that the PP achieves it again", he has sentenced.

"I have not come to carry out fake politics; I believe in mature politics, because mature politics is the only politics. I have not come to irritate or insult. I believe in moderation and serenity. I have not come to conform" , the Galician leader has summed up.

"I feel safer governing than opposing", Feijóo has confessed.

Of course, he himself has recognized that it is difficult for him: "When you have raised many expectations, the only thing you can do is match those expectations."

"You have to help me to make opposition, and if we do it well there will be a Government, and in that Government and in those positions will be all those who have not been able to be on these lists," he said, in a possible veiled reference to names such as of former ministers Fátima Báñez, Rafael Catalá or Alfonso Alonso.

Before that, the candidate has revealed two other appointments from his team on Friday afternoon.

As president of the

Committee of Rights and Guarantees

of the PP he has appointed José Antonio Monago, president of the PP of

Extremadura

who was going to be ousted by Pablo Casado.

And for the

Electoral Committee

he has proposed

Diego Calvo

, president of the PP of

A Coruña

.

This would leave him out of the succession race of the

Xunta de Galicia

.

The rest of the management team - the deputy secretaries - will appoint him on Sunday, at the first meeting of the new

National Executive Committee

.

For that same organ, Feijóo presented his team of 35 names this Friday.

In reality, he has revealed 33, since it was already known that Cuca Gamarra, who will be the general secretary, and Elías Bendodo, who will be the general coordinator, "one of the figures who know our party best" will be on his team.

In the list there is a large number of Marianists, and new and Galician profiles.

Of all of them it is worth highlighting José Luis Martínez Almeida ("at the proposal" of Ayuso),

Manuel Cobo Vega

(former right-hand man of

Gallardón

),

José Manuel Romay Beccaría

(his mentor),

Alfonso Serrano

,

Sofía Acedo

,

José Manuel Baltar

,

Luis Barcala

,

Ana Beltrán

,

María José Catalá

,

Francisco Conde

,

Alberto Fabra

,

José Manuel García-Margallo

,

Ana Guarinos

,

Loles López

,

Llanos de Luna

,

Ana Pastor

,

Iñaki Oyarzábal

and the Galician Vice President

Alfonso Rueda

.

In addition, all the regional barons of the PP will be ex officio members of the Executive Committee.

"And, I hope that circumstantially,

Miguel Tellado

", who is secretary general of the Galician PP.

For the National Board of Directors, Feijóo has proposed another 30 lesser-known names, among which

Beltrán Pérez

or

Jordi Roca

stand out .

Returning to his self-interview, and to answer the first question ("who am I?", Feijóo recalled his mentor, José Manuel Romay Beccaría, who placed him in

Insalud

, and Francisco Álvarez Cascos, who gave him the opportunity to direct Post Office "I do not believe in Adams, nor in leaders nor in saviors, I believe in common work and in the unity of our party. Divided and deified, nothing is achieved. I am therefore the fruit of teamwork".

In his review, Feijóo paid tribute to

José María Aznar

and, above all, to

Mariano Rajoy

: "I don't deserve half of what you have given him".

"We are the party that took Spain out of the great crises" and to which "everyone looks" when the economy goes bad, he has defended in reference to both former leaders.

For his predecessor, the future president of the PP has asked for "respect".

"I would like to recognize the effort that Casado has made to hold the party flag in uphill stretches and with enormous uncertainty", he has used.

Feijóo has continued to ask himself questions.

"Why am I here? For our history, which deserves to be respected, and above all for our future: I think our country needs us more than ever."

For Feijóo, the project that he will embody is "more necessary than ever" because citizens "deserve to find answers and certainties in politics."

"I do not believe in possession of the truth" and "I doubt", the candidate has recalled.

"From a personal point of view, this decision has not been easy; it is not the best for my family or the most comfortable for me."

"This was not in my plans", he has confessed, "but never in my life have I opted for the easiest and I am not capable of standing still in the face of the drift that this country is taking".

Feijóo will give "the best" of himself for the PP and for the country.

In exchange for?

Of the "support" of his co-religionists, nothing more, he has said.

"I have no personal ambition other than to serve my country" and "I don't want anyone's blind following, but I do want support."

And why has he come?

To "remount".

"I am convinced that we have the ability to come back and give Spain the guarantee of the majority that it needs", he said, if the PP becomes a "living party" and rich in "debates", but at the same time "united ".

"We are the autonomist party" and "that has strengthened the Welfare State", he has opposed Vox.

"The PP has a legacy that no one inside or outside is going to take away from us, so let's start by defending what we already are," the candidate harangued before demanding "respect" for his party.
