The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that a Palestinian was killed by Israeli bullets during clashes in the Bab al-Zawiya area in Hebron.

The Palestinian Red Crescent had reported that about seventy Palestinians suffocated as a result of clashes that erupted after Friday prayers in the villages of Beita and Beit Dajan in Nablus.

The Red Crescent indicated that most of the injuries were suffocation cases due to the firing of tear gas canisters at Palestinian demonstrators.

Palestinian sources said that five other Palestinians were injured during clashes that erupted in the village of Kafr Qaddoum in Qalqilya with the occupation forces.

At dawn today, the occupation forces arrested fourteen Palestinians, during a campaign of raids and arrests in various parts of the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The arrests were concentrated in the governorates of Jenin, Ramallah, Nablus and Bethlehem.

Among the detainees is Representative in the Legislative Council, Ahmed Atoun, after his house was raided in Bethlehem, in the southern West Bank.

The occupation authorities had announced, earlier, the launch of a security operation called "breaking waves", and said that the aim was to thwart new attacks against the Israelis.

Earlier, the Bab al-Amoud area in occupied Jerusalem witnessed a state of tension, after a number of settlers gathered, chanted slogans against the Arabs, and attempted to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque.


Video clips showed a number of settlers gathered in the Bab al-Amoud area, chanting "Death to the Arabs", in an attempt to provoke the Palestinians in the area.

The area witnessed clashes between the Israeli police and settlers, when the police tried to disperse them and remove them from the area.

About 30,000 Palestinians performed Friday prayers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to estimates.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the occupation forces only allowed men over the age of 55, and women over the age of 50, to reach Jerusalem from cities in the West Bank to perform Friday prayers;

It required that those under this age obtain prior permits to enter the city.
