Recently, the DPP authorities claimed that the mainland used the situation in Ukraine to conduct so-called "cognitive warfare" against Taiwan.

Some DPP public opinion representatives also said that the mainland used Douyin, Xiaohongshu, etc. to spread false news to operate the so-called "cognitive warfare".

On March 30, at the regular press conference of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, spokesperson Zhu Fenglian responded to this.

Zhu Fenglian said that we have always supported and encouraged people on both sides of the strait, especially young people, to strengthen exchanges, enhance understanding, and work together for development.

Network exchanges have built a platform for young people on both sides of the strait to display diverse forms, provide greater space for self-development, and create more opportunities for young people on both sides of the strait to understand each other and interact positively.

Zhu Fenglian said that the DPP authorities deliberately obstructed and sabotaged people-to-people exchanges between the two sides of the strait out of the selfishness of one party. In the final analysis, they were afraid of compatriots on both sides of the strait getting close to each other, and afraid that the Taiwanese people would know the real situation on the mainland.

They use so-called "cognitive warfare" to deceive the Taiwanese people and create an "information cocoon" as a fig leaf to incite hostility, hatred and confrontation, and ultimately harm the development space and interests of the Taiwanese people, especially Taiwanese youth.
