Linguist Yulia Solodovnik and journalist Diana Siarki came to Sweden together in early March.

In SVT's Morgonstudion, Diana tells how at first she had no thoughts of escaping.

She began to get used to the sounds of war and became less and less careful in her everyday life.

But the family made her change.

- It is among the most difficult, to see how even loved ones suffer.

When I saw how my mother and family reacted to the fact that I was not safe, I decided to go with Yulia to Sweden to help other Ukrainians with our knowledge.

Became a translator

Both Yulia and Diana can speak Swedish.

Now they are translating and dubbing several UR programs into Ukrainian together.

- We like to translate because they are really interesting programs.

For example, I translated a program about the Riksdag, county councils and other authorities - it is useful information for me too, says Diana Siarki.

- I thrive well here in Sweden and can help people.

I am very proud, says Yulia Solodovnik.

That Yulia can speak Swedish is the result of an unfortunate coincidence.

Hear her tell in the clip.
