Russia blacklists the EU's top leadership

The Russian authorities decided to impose an entry ban on senior representatives of the European Union.

And the Russian Foreign Ministry announced today, Thursday, that "the restrictions apply to the senior leadership of the European Union, as well as to the majority of members of the European Parliament."

The ministry added that the "black list" also includes representatives of governments and parliaments of some countries in the European Union, but did not name them.

The European Union had imposed sanctions on 351 deputies in the Russian parliament, before the outbreak of the Russian war on Ukraine five weeks ago.

These deputies supported the recognition of the republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, and this was followed by Russian President Vladimir Putin's declaration of recognition of the two republics and then began to wage war on Ukraine.

In the middle of this month, Moscow issued an entry ban on US President Joe Biden and other members of the US government, and this decision was related to the sanctions imposed on Russia.

It is noteworthy that the United States imposed personal sanctions on Putin, his Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other members of the Russian government and their aides.
