Since 2011, the Nobel Museum in collaboration with the Swedish Chemical Society has arranged chemistry shows for Karlskoga's students in grades 5-8.
For half a day, students can visit Alfred Nobel's Björkborn and take part in a show that aims to arouse interest in science in an easy way, especially chemistry.
Tuesday's show was attended, in addition to students from Skrantaskolan, by a professor and an associate professor from Uppsala University.
- In our profession, we are interested in teaching and we are here to see what can be done when it comes to students who are at a fairly low level in their chemistry skills, says Professor Adolf Gogoll and adds:
- It is quite fascinating to see how you can set up an event like this.
After a slump from the 1990s until the middle of the 2010s, he is happy to see that interest in chemistry and chemists is starting to rise again.
- This can be seen, among other things, in the fact that most people who receive a degree in chemistry from us get a job fairly immediately.
