The Chinese government has confirmed that it will continue humanitarian assistance by holding an international conference in which foreign ministers from neighboring countries discuss the situation in Afghanistan.

Executives from the Taliban interim administration were also invited to the meeting, and China seems to have a desire to lead the stabilization of the region and expand its influence.

This international conference was hosted by the Chinese government and was held in the inland province of Anhu on the 31st, with the participation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Foreign Minister Sergeĭ Viklov of Russia, and Foreign Ministers of seven countries such as Pakistan and Iran.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, President Xi Jinping sent a message at the conference saying, "China will strive to support the peaceful and stable development of Afghanistan."

At the meeting, he said that he would generally appreciate the Taliban's efforts to govern the Taliban, which launched the interim administration in August last year, and confirmed that he would continue humanitarian assistance because he was concerned about the serious humanitarian crisis facing Afghanistan.

According to China's state media, members of the Foreign Ministers' Meeting have since discussed with the Taliban's interim administration, Acting Foreign Minister Muttaki, on how to support them.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi has just visited Afghanistan on March 24 and emphasized China's willingness to continue its economic cooperation.

It seems that China wants to lead the stabilization of the region and expand its influence while Europe and the United States refrain from supporting the Taliban's provisional government because of human rights issues.
