The Rothschild and Co bank "formally denied" this Thursday that "bankers in France would be paid abroad", about an investigation by the site Off Investigation into the heritage of Emmanuel Macron claiming that the managing partners would be partially paid in tax havens.

"Bankers in France are paid in France," insisted in a press release the investment bank which had the head of state as managing partner.

A relative of the president-candidate had denounced on Wednesday "stink balls" at the end of the campaign, aimed in particular at an investigation by the site Off Investigation published on Tuesday evening which questions the heritage of Emmanuel Macron.

In this investigation, a "personality" presented as "close" to the Rothschild bank assures on condition of anonymity that its managing partners are partially paid in tax havens.

"There is no tax ruling (agreement between the administration and a company, editor's note) between Bercy and the Rothschild bank to exempt the fees of the managing partners outside France from tax," also affirmed the Ministry of the Economy and finances.

"No fraud, no facts, no proof," responded Emmanuel Macron's campaign team.
