The Russian foreign minister met with the Chinese foreign minister for the first time since the invasion of Ukraine and explained the situation of the war.

China and Russia have agreed to expand cooperation after the US has warned China not to aid Russia.

This is the first face-to-face meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.



In a bilateral meeting held prior to the meeting of foreign ministers of neighboring countries in Afghanistan, Minister Lavrov explained the situation and negotiations in Ukraine to Director Wang.



Russia's foreign ministry said the foreign chiefs of both countries had pointed out the adverse effects of illegal sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and its allies.



He added that the two countries agreed to expand cooperation in various forms in the future.

China, which has shown a strong attitude toward Russia, has also been opposing Russian sanctions and has been under pressure from Western countries.



In a video call with Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Biden warned that China's material support of Russia would come at a cost.



At this meeting, held amidst this, it is understood that China and Russia have strengthened their support for each other and reaffirmed that China will not participate in sanctions.
