The filmmaker became a soldier - dreaming of returning to the Crimea

Seirablaev is a Crimean Tatar, an ethnic group deported from Crimea by Stalin.

Several of his films are about Crimea, the war and the fate of the Crimean Tatars.

He has not been there since Russia annexed the peninsula in 2014.

He tells SVT how he dreams of one day being able to return.

- We will sit there on the beach, he says.
