The head of the military junta, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, sacked the directors of 30 universities in the country on Tuesday March 29, as well as their management committee.

A strike movement began on Wednesday to protest against this decision.

While laborious negotiations under the aegis of the UN and the AU seek a way out of the crisis, this decision shows how the head of the army is taking control of the state, in particular by reinstating the cadres of the army. former regime of ousted President Omar al-Bashir.
