On 1 September 2020, non-profit Sigtunahem transferred its entire housing queue to the newly started Sigtuna housing agency.

At the same time, a fee of SEK 250 per year was introduced, while previously it was free.

From Sigtunahem's side, the idea was to get a better picture of how many of the 67,000 people in the queue were really interested in a home.

50,000 people disappeared from the queue.

Reminder went to junk folder

The only problem was that of these 50,000, there were a number of people - how many can not be said now - who did not want to leave the queue at all.

They just had not been reached by the information that it was time to pay.

- In the email if there was a link.

Which could make the email go directly to the junk folder, says Erik Langby (M), chairman of Sigtuna housing agency.

Housing agency changes foot

When upset Sigtuna and Märsta residents heard about whether they had been removed from the queue, the message was that their queue time could not be recreated.

Their data had been deleted in accordance with the Data Directive GDPR, which prohibits the storage of personal data without consent.

But now Sigtuna is turning to a housing agency - and says that there may be hope of getting their queue time back.

In the own e-mail servers you can see who you have emailed to.

- We will have a board meeting in a week, and then really go through if there is something we can do, says Erik Langby (M).
