The Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, with an area of 19,000 square meters and located near one of the World Cup-2022 stadiums, has a collection of 17,000 objects.

They include a glove worn by boxing giant Mohamed Ali when he won gold at the Rome Olympics in 1960, a Ferrari of Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher or a jersey worn by football legend Pelé.

The opening of this museum, which has taken more than 15 years to rise from the ground and build its collection, is part of a more than billion-dollar campaign by the Qatari government to make this Gulf state a haven cultural, alongside significant spending on sporting events.
