Emmanuel Macron remains in the lead in the first round of the presidential election, slightly up over a week while the gap with Marine Le Pen in the second round is sharply reduced, according to an Elabe* poll published on Wednesday.

The outgoing president is on the rise again with 28% of voting intentions (+0.5 points) in the first round after a sharp drop in the survey carried out last week for BFMTV and L'Express with SFR.

On the other hand, the gap between Emmanuel Macron and the RN candidate Marine Le Pen narrowed by seven points in the second round to 52.5% against 47.5%.

Marine Le Pen confirms its upward trend from the first round

The two candidates were given respectively at 56% and 44% last week.

Marine Le Pen confirms her upward trend from the first round (21%, +1 point), already observed in the various studies throughout the month of March.

It is progressing, especially in the event of a duel against Emmanuel Macron in the second round, driven by a campaign focused on purchasing power.

The candidate of the Popular Union Jean-Luc Mélenchon strengthens his position as third man (15.5%, +0.5 points) at a good distance in front of the candidate Reconquest!

Eric Zemmour (10.5%, +0.5 point) and candidate LR Valérie Pécresse, still fifth in the poll (9.5%, -0.5 point).

Yadot at 4%

In sixth position, the environmental candidate Yannick Jadot lost for the second consecutive time in a week half a point, to 4% of the voting intentions, ahead of the communist candidate Fabien Roussel who fell by one point (2.5%).

He finds himself tied with Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (Debout la France) and Jean Lassalle (Résistons!) both reduced by 0.5 points.

The three men nevertheless remain ahead of the Socialist Party candidate Anne Hidalgo (2%, +0.5 points) and the NPA Philippe Poutou, stable at 1.5%.

The figurehead of Lutte Ouvrière Nathalie Arthaud closes the march at equal level (0.5%).

Voting intentions do not constitute a forecast of the outcome of the vote.

They give an indication of the balance of power and dynamics on the day of the survey.

*The survey was conducted online from March 28 to 30, using the quota method, with a sample of 1,531 people representative of residents of mainland France aged 18 and over, including 1,416 registered on the electoral lists.

The margin of error is between 1.1 and 3.1 points.
