In one weekend, in Concarneau (Finistère), a motorist was checked drunk at the wheel twice.
What's more, the man was no longer in possession of his driver's license, reports the Actu site.
He was arrested for the first time on Saturday.
The driver was driving with an alcohol level of 0.8 grams while his two young children and his partner were also in the car.
The vehicle was immobilized.
However, the next day, the same man was again checked by the police, this time with more than one gram of alcohol per liter of blood.
Sentenced but not imprisoned
The 26-year-old young man was tried in immediate appearance by the Quimper criminal court on Tuesday.
He was sentenced to four months in prison, four months with probation for two years and a fine of 150 euros.
The defendant, who wears an electronic bracelet as part of a rape case, was not imprisoned.
His license was revoked for six months and his vehicle confiscated.
