U.S. President Joe Biden took a cautious stance, saying "we will watch" when Russia, which is in negotiations with Ukraine, has announced that it will reduce military activities in Kiiu and other places.

When asked about Russia's position on the announcement, Biden said at a joint press conference shortly after meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong that "I won't make any predictions until I see action."

"Negotiations are ongoing," he said, adding, "We will wait and see their proposals," he said.

In a separate press release, the White House said, "The leaders of major NATO countries, including Britain, France, and Germany, have confirmed their decision to continue to impose sanctions on Russia to pay a heavy price for its invasion of Ukraine."

"We will continue to provide security support so that Ukraine can defend itself," he added.

It is known that the four heads of state reviewed humanitarian aid efforts to Ukrainians during the call and emphasized the need for humanitarian access to the citizens of Mariupol.
